Why are we here?
The entire country is in the grip of the "coronavirus" pandemic today. Today, the country is in the 2nd stage of the coronavirus. The next stage is very dangerous for society. To avoid this disease, constant information is being given in the government and social media to use hand sanitizer and mask at all times. Almost all the people of the society and people of all classes are following this order. But the "beggar class" of Kalighat Temple and Dakshineswar Temple in Kolkata are completely unaware of this pandemic and neither are they using sanitizer or masks to protect themselves. It is our duty to protect these people from this pandemic. A well known social worker and resident of Kolkata, Soma Das will provide sanitizer and mask free of cost to about 500 street beggars living in this area. However, this will only be possible if each of us come together as donors and supporters. Whatever is collected via this campaign will be used to purchase sanitizer and masks for the people here.
What do we need?
We need a massive input of funds to run this initiative(s). Our first step is to raise Rs. 15 lakhs. But the amount of time and effort needed is massive. We need volunteers, we need administrative support to do this, we need help from the authorities for security, we need help from medical institutions for the health checks and we need delivery partners to run this initiative.
Utilization of Funds:
1. 75% towards free preparation and food distribution, starting with 100 percent initially.
2. 15% percent towards medical supplies, thermometers, masks, gloves, soaps, and sanitizers.
This is just the beginning and we will need unprecedented support from each of you to safely get through these tough times. Please help us so we can help them.
