On 16th of May, Joshua succumbed to COVID after spending close to 10 days in the hospital. An hour later his beloved mother passed away due to complications caused by COVID. Josh's wife Helen had buried her dear father only two days earlier on the 14th, and was now tasked with seeing Josh and his mother in similar situations. Joshua's father was admitted to the hospital, so the task of running around and completing the formalities related to the funeral was left to Helen. Joshua, his parents, and Helen's father together spent over 30 days in the hospital.
Helen's resilience and strength after losing 3 people very dear to her is unimaginable and remarkable.
"I know I have people depending on me", she said, referring to her son Jeremy and her mother (who's been inconsolable since the demise of her husband last week). "I am taking it one day at a time".
This is an initiative by friends of Helen and Joshua, who want to support this brave woman at this moment of extreme grief and pain.
Joshua always put the needs of his family before his own. He loved to dance and make people laugh. All of us who knew Joshua have happy memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
A bit about Joshua:
Joshua Perinbadurai grew up the first 5 years of his life among the Dungra Bhil community of Gujarat, where his parents were cross-cultural missionaries (for over 35 years). He went on to finish schooling in the hostel of Santhosha Vidhyalaya, Dohnavur ('93 - 2005), and studied Biotech in Karunya (2005 - 11). He is survived by his wife Helen, and son Jeremy (3 years old) - seen in cover picture.
