I am HASEEBA HAKEEM, belonging to a poor, conservative family of Palakkad district in the state of Kerala. I am currently pursuing IIIrd year MBBS at BEIHUA UNIVERSITY, JILIN, CHINA.
I am the only child of my mother who was married at a very young age. My father left us even before my birth. My mother raised me through all the emotional, financial and social hardships. I studied in government school of Kerala state board. The financial and social difficulties that I and my mother went through have been tremendous. But we did not lose our faith in the almighty and resolutely faced the challenges of life. My mother supported my basic schooling by working as an attender in a medical college. Through my experience of life, I thought only education can uplift us socially and economically and hence, despite all difficulties, I always focussed on my studies.
When I used to visit my mother in her working place, I got many opportunities to interact with doctors from different specialities and different walks of life. Many of the doctors displayed empathy, care and concern towards me. They guided me through my studies and life as a whole. These interactions gave a direction to my life’s next steps. I thought medical training makes a good human being and helps to resonate with fellow human beings in a constructive way.
From my early school days, I was doing well in my studies and secured 84% in 12th class. I tried to go for medical entrance coaching to get admission in Govt. Medical Colleges. However, such training was beyond our reach and I did not qualify for admission in Govt. Medical Colleges. The high fee of private medical colleges was out of the question for us. Hence, I selected a college in China to pursue my medical education.
Presently, I am half-way through my life’s mission, in IIIrd year at BEIHUA UNIVERSITY, JILIN, CHINA. As we all know, medical training in China though not as costly as in private medical colleges back in India, still costs a sizeable amount. None of our relatives is in a state to help us in any way. By God’s grace and the help of a few sympathetic people who responded favourably to our appeal, I have managed to reach my third year of medical training. Being focussed on my studies, I have secured 97% and 95% in my first year and second-year MBBS respectively. Now I am faced with the huge challenge of meeting my educational expenses for the next three years.
The total expenses for the rest three years of my education is approximately 105,000/-RMB (10,50,000/- INR) that is ten lakhs fifty thousand rupees. I humbly request all kind-hearted people to extend valuable financial support to meet my educational expenses. May the almighty God bless you for your generous help to me, a deserving student with a genuine cause.
