Hello! We are Lavanya, Angela and Harsh of Symbiosis Law School, Pune. We have been selected to attend the prestigious Jean Pictet Competition 2021, set to take place in Albania, Duress, from April 3rd to 10th. This competition is a unique training in International Humanitarian Law and its objective is to take law out of the books.

Us enthusiastic trio group of law students have been working hard to be a part of this competition. This is the first time our college will be represented in this competition.

After a vigorous selection process, our team got selected, based on our application which consisted of two legal questions which assessed our depth of knowledge on IHL and one statement of purpose. Based on the quality of our answers and application we received a relief of 750 Euros from the Universality fund by the competitions steering group, on the registration fee, which was originally 1250 Euros. This grant has been tremendously helpful.

However, the reign of Covid - 19 has rendered one member of the team without a source of income. This situation has been persisting for a year now, and hence it is extremely difficult for us to afford the expenses that come with this competition. Thus, to overcome this monetary obstruction which separates us and this competition, we have turned towards crowdfunding.
