Help Gyankunj; Your small donation can give a child a better tomorrow

Our drive is to allow for a reflection of thoughts, of your ideas around equality in society and education. Though this program we encourage you to rewind to the past, when your childhood aspirations were to make it to university and discovery your future.
Today you are in that future, with an opportunity to help our children, who find their inspirations in stories like yours.
Join us, and help us. See your self in us.

Why we need funds?
We are looking to improve the quality of our digital education. This fundraiser is to acquire few tables to improve the learning experience for our students at Gyankunj.
Also Gyankunj is starting ‘connect with the future' program.
We wish to connect each student with a mentor. A student may communicate with his/her mentor via telephone or Skype.
He/She may seek advice or simply chat with her/his mentor.
This is an opportunity for our supports to directly communicate to those who they’ve been rooting for.
For smooth conduct of such session we need a laptop, speaker, webcam etc.

What motivate us to start Gyankunj?
I know the amount of effort our parents put in to give us a better life. When I was studying in class 10, my mother worked as an Attendant at DTU hostels. That greatly inspired me to pursue engineering from the very same university. I had developed the idea of  Gyankunj from my engineering days, and now I’m working on it.

As a child, I wished to grow, and as I grow, I wish for my childhood to return. I realise it’s all about the moments. This moment I am writing this because of my education and at this very moment, there are millions across the globe who are being denied this right. This is my moment to act and to return childhood to those it belongs to.
Gyankunj is an NGO actively working in Delhi. Presently, we are operating in J.J. Colony, Bawana. We are working for the welfare of a targeted group of children between the ages of 12 to 16. These students have primarily enrolled in government schools, who hail from economically, socially and culturally besieged communities.
Our organization’s primary objective is to fill the gap in the academic opportunities  provided to children from well off families and the cavity in the education of students from low income groups families, i.e. academic exposure to digital devices, utility of the internet, institutional grooming in writings, speaking and general critical thinking.

Presently, we are teaching 100 plus students English, Mathematics & Science. Computer classes are conducted on laptops which were recently acquired after securing first place in Bain & Company ‘Seeds of Hope’ competition on NGO ideas and securing some funding. We regularly organize quizzes, debates, visits to museums and other creative competitions for the students; we fund these activities with a combination of regular donations from likeminded individuals and quarterly fundraisers (latest amount raised 2.50 lac INR in record time of 7 days).

It would be a great help if you can join our efforts and join the large DTU(DCE)/NSUT/IIMs/DU alumni who are connected with us.
Contribute any small amount and help us in reaching to our goal.
You can volunteer as well.
Thank you!!
