Meet Mallika Mandal. A 17 years Footballer who shined at the Khelo India Youth Games Assam, 2020. Her family itself produced another two National level athletes, her brothers. Mallika is a player of the Guwahati City FC and participating in Indian Women's League, the top division women's football league of the country. Her parents are daily wage labourers and struggling to meet daily needs. Humble background of Mallika is creating obstacles in front of her dream too. So, she needs your support to fulfill her dream, the dream to play for India!
Guwahati City Football Club is a club established on the values of equality and development. Established in 2017 and based out of Guwahati, the club now has a fully operational senior women's team and two age group girls team training under the Academy. Senior women's team is playing at the top division of Indian Women's Football, Indian Women's League (IWL) as the first ever Assamese club to do so and our Academy has been preparing the next batch of players with U18 & U15 girls, numbering close to 50. The club takes care of the training and equipments of these girls. But, the girls, mostly from humble background and the club, are finding it difficult to afford regular transport, accommodation (for outstation girls), nutrition, fitness and academics. As we believe in providing these girls not only Football training, but all other aspects of the modern game as well as academic education to thrive in future, we need a helping hand from all the people who believe in sports, equality and women empowerment. Your any amount of contribution can change the life of a girl who has big dreams and dedication to play for the country despite all the challenges. Indian Women's Football team has the real chance to qualify for the Olympics and the World Cup in near future and your helping hand can produce one of these future world class Footballers.
