Summary
This project will feed the hunger and sanitation support for the small farmers, agricultural daily wages labourers, and informal sector workers whose are affected by COVID-19 crisis in India. In India 93% of workers whose are lost their income and do not get a regularly monthly pay.
Challenge
The recent census of India data gives the details as 48.2 crore workers in India. Of these, only 3.3 crore are in the formal sector; the remaining 93 percent includes 11.9 crore farmers, 14.4 crore landless agricultural workers, and 21.9 crore non-agricultural workers. Almost none of them get a monthly pay cheque or bank transfer. Their cash flows are dependent on their working. Due to COVID-19 crisis 93% of workers have lost their income. GPCT will provide Groceries and Sanitation kit for them.
Solution
Grace Peter charitable Trust propose to provide Sanitation and Groceries kits for 500 families whose bread winners are lost their work. The kit consist of 10 Kg rice, 1 kg Pulses, 1 Liter cooking oil, kg Masala and one 250 ml hand wash & 4 Toilet or Bath Soap for the jobless poor. We will conduct awareness campaign regarding health and hygienic for the public.
Long-Term Impact
Our support and activities are giving more prevention from Covid-19 in sustainable manner because the project will protect them from the disease and disaster. The target families will get away from the COVID-19 crisis and poor and marginalized families will survive from the poverty and hunger
