    This fundraiser will benefit

    Gowtham Kannan

    from Palani, Tamil Nadu

As you may be aware by now, our College friend Gowtham Kannan (College of Engineering Guindy 2002-2006 Civil Engineering) is undergoing surgery for brain tumor (Vestibular Schwannoma) on April 20th. Kannan had been diagnosed with this tumor a few years back which was found to be benign. But over the last 3 years, as the tumor started to grow he went through multiple rounds of MRI scans and diagnosis and suffering which he rarely portrays. He is running out of time now and surgery is a necessity and life saving at this point.

He is a beloved friend to all of us. Now is the time to come forward and generously donate for our friend's surgery and recovery.

Based on our estimates, his surgery and post surgery rehabilitation and recovery would cost around INR 10-12 lakhs. Even though his recovery may take a 3-6 months, we know he will bounce back successfully with a sound health.  Let us pour in our thoughts, prayers and generosity to help his family at this crucial time.

Gowtham Kannan's family includes his wife (Nivetha), his 5 old daughter (Vedavarna) and all his friends (as he would say).

For People who does not know Kannan:
He graduated from CEG, Anna University (one of the top 10 colleges of India) as a civil engineer in 2006 and was working as Animation Software Engineer till he was diagnosed with Vestibular Schwannoma in 2018. After that, he was not able to continue his profession due to the tumor's symptoms which was getting very severe day by day. Ever since, he has not give up fighting and has been going through several diagnosis and treatments but unfortunately, none of them helped. And now he has to get operated to treat this condition.

Amidst all the struggles he was going through, he has been a selfless grassroots philanthropist, and has founded an organization called "Village Bells", through which he has directly impacted countless lives of underprivileged and neglected tribals, farming communities and orphaned elders and kids. He is also working on to build an NGO to expand his philanthropic activities.

Let us all help him overcome his health situation so that he can continue to chase his dreams to help millions of people.
