EdJustice People’s Campaign has been working in Bihar to rejuvenate the state education system. What we have observed in 3 years of working is the startling absence of functional libraries from government schools. Hence we have undertaken a project to build model libraries in government schools to help students access the best of reading material and develop their intellectual grit.
Under this project we plan to revamp the library in Government Secondary School, Birpur, Begusarai. The estimated fund required to setup one library is Rs.50,000 with an expenditure of 15,000 on bookshelves, 8000 on infrastructure, 20,000 on books, and 5,000 on miscellaneous expenditure like lighting and stationary.
We seek public support in order to bring quality, back to public education. Each contribution, irrespective of its size will help us inch closer to our dream of having a library in every school.
