Contribute to Ghulam and his weavers to procure raw materials and support #MakeinIndia

At 52, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat is exceptional at intricate Sozni needlework, a style of embroidery used in Kashmiri shawls. He and his family, which includes his twenty-one-year old son and sixteen-year-old daughter, thrive on the revenue generated from the sale of his shawls. Ants Crafts pays him for every shawl he embroiders. As of recently, he has the help of his son, who has decided to follow in his footsteps. His daughter is completing her studies and helps her mother with housework in her free time.

However, after the Kashmir floods of 2014, his life has come to a standstill. There has been irreparable damage to the stocks stored in warehouses. Months of hard work have gone to waste. In order to help these artisans get back on their feet, JK Handlooms has embarked on an initiative to order more shawls to increase the monthly income of Bhat and other weavers. Bhat is one of the many artisans who can earn a substantial source of income from this endeavour if he can just manage to keep up with the orders. For this purpose, he needs a loan of Rs. 4 lakhs to procure raw materials and repair his equipment.
