The Indian Spinal Injuries Centre (ISIC), New Delhi, is a 200-bed tertiary level care provider for spinal injuries. However, since the beginning of the pandemic, ISIC has transcended its role of providing care for select few specialties and joined forces with the authorities to fight COVID-19. It’s been more than a year since we were thrust into this battle against COVID-19 unprepared. With the second wave ravaging almost every home in India, it is time to not only fight but also to beef up for the future. We seek your support and contribution to augment our infrastructure to help our staff help the patients, help you.
We aim to raise INR 40 lakhs that will help 180 COVID patients and allow us to create infrastructure to treat many more. With your help, we will buy 20 patient beds, 2 ventilators, 1 defibrillator, and 10 monitors for our upcoming Oxygen Cafe and First Aid Covid Centre.
ISIC is registered as a society and operates on a not-for-profit basis, ensuring that even the poorest of poor patients receive specialized care free of cost under the EWS category. As an institution, ISIC has been operating beyond its capacity for many days now and in the past fortnight has been on the brink of a severe shortage of life-saving medical oxygen and dreaded patients may die. The team of doctors and supporting staff at ISIC are selflessly providing their service, despite many of them getting infected, even sacrificing their lives, in the process. We need your help to tell them their struggles will not go in vain -- that as a community, we stand strong with each other to beat this enemy, that we are in this war together and will emerge victorious together.
We have seen how the common people left no stone unturned to help each other when the governments found themselves in a bind. The war is on, and we urge you to be our comrades. All contributions made to ISIC through this platform are eligible for tax exemption under 80G.
