AHMEDABAD: A 35-year-old man died on Sunday morning when a tree fell on him while he was riding his rickshaw at Jawahar Chowk in Maninagar area of the city.
The deceased has been identified as Ganpat Goswami, aged around 35, a resident of Vatva area of the city, said an officer of Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES).
Two men, aged around 30, suffered injuries in the case. They were admitted to nearby LG hospital.
"The incident occurred when the driver stopped at a traffic signal. Suddenly the tree fell on the autorickshaw and damaged the front part of the vehicle. The driver suffered severe injuries to his head," said a fire officer.
The autorickshaw driver was rushed to LG hospital where he was declared dead. Condition of the two bike-borne men is stated to be stable, said the officer.
Maninagar police registered a case of accidental death and began an investigation.
He was a single child of his parents and he has 2 small kids and his wife is a housewife. So they are in very much need of money which could help them to survive as he was the only earning person in his family. It is a humble request if someone could help his family in terms of money as per your capability.
