186 happy and healthy community dogs cared for by volunteers in IIT Madras campus were captured and held in a secretively maintained enclosure on the campus for the past 14 months. Having not been given adequate food or care, the poor creatures began perishing rapidly out of trauma.
These daunting images paint terrible stories of death, and a trauma filled existence for the surviving 28 from the original number (186).
Friends of Animals, the volunteer group comprising IIT Madras residents and alumni would like to do dignify the 28 survivors with better remainders of their lives, and aim to rescue and rehabilitate them. This cause is to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the surviving fraction of the dogs who used to be a joyful presence around a campus that's now devoid of it.
