    This fundraiser will benefit

    Flood affected people of Silchar

    from Silchar, Assam

As a volunteer, we received hundreds of distress calls, people begging for just a little bit of water to drink while there was water everywhere! 80% of the city of Silchar got submerged in water, it had reached the first floor of people, no electricity, no network nothing. Hundreds of people lost their lives to this flood. People were stuck at home with their deceased dear ones, no ground to bury and no crematoriums above water! "Sahajjyer Hath" the social welfare unit of the "Sarbabharatiya Sylheti Forum" have been involved in feeding the refugees. We also have been running a cleaning an sanitization drive across the city to prevent the spread of post flood infectious diseases. People have made local contributions with which we have been able to cover 4 big areas of Silchar so far but we need help to cover the entire city. We also are aiming to help the poor who lost everything to flood with reliefs like food and clothes.
Sahajjyer Hath also is working on the following issues:

1. Skill development for underprivileged children.
2. Cleaning the environment and fighting the climate change.
3. Women empowerment.

We have completed special skill development courses for underprivileged children. We also have completed several save soil and plantation events. On the environment day 2022, in collaboration with the governor of Assam, we ran a huge plantation drive in Guwahati. We have also collaborated with NGO Aranyak.

Please come forward with your helping hand, help us help the environment and the poor people with whatever you can.
