The land of village Didwana, Lalsot ,Rajasthan is on the verge of degradation. According to local government body, the land will not be suitable for farming in nearly 7-8 years if we continue the ongoing practices. Another thing to be mentioned is that village Didwana had signed a treaty with tehsil Lalsot to provide them drinking water as Lalsot is considered in red-zone with respect to drinking water as the groundwater availability is at around 500 feet. Consequently, the ground water level is continuously depleting in village Didwana. Only 5% farmers of village are willing to promote this profession in their younger generation, others are encouraging them to prepare for government jobs or to work in industries .In order to solve this problem we will present them with a more economically viable and ecologically sustainable model taken reference from Sadhguru's River Revitalization Policy and Subash Palekar's zero budget farming model .To start with this project an initial amount of 1.8 lakh rupees will be required using which 500 fruits and timber trees will be planted along with intercropping with organic vegetables and pulses on a 1 hectare land allotted to us in village Didwana . This project will sustain itself of the other expenses by intercropping of vegetables and pulses .After 3 years fruiting will start which will initiate revenue generation from the project out of which a certain part will be used for the conversion of farmers from traditional farming to this model and also financial aid will be provided to poor farmers. This project will give confidence, training and financial aid to people to convert from traditional farming methods.
It is clearly evident that the farmers of our country have to tackle with a huge pile of problems everyday. Mere words and sympathy of our leaders is the last thing that a farmer would need as a resolution to his problems. All he needs is a reliable financial assistance and proper support. As the citizens of this nation we also have equal responsibility towards them and the time has come for us to get into action .This project would lay the foundation stone for a much bigger initiative that would help the farmers to a very large extent.
