During the second wave of COVID'19, a number of organizations stepped up to offer their services/assistance in the areas of rations, PPE kits, oxygen concentrators, and so on. While aiding individuals in all sectors, the mental health sector remains ignored, and individuals are living in perpetual fear and grief, leading to mental health issues. As per the speculation of ICMR and other research organizations, the dreadful nature of the second wave persists for long, thus we need to be on our toes to fight with it and also for the anticipated third wave.
We are a group of volunteers from TISS, IIM, and IIT who are working to provide mental health support to those affected by COVID'19, such as frontline workers, people who have lost loved ones, people who are living in fear, and people who are experiencing anxiety as a result of lockdown and uncertainty in general. To make mental health services more accessible to everyone, we are providing support in 12 regional languages.
We're looking to raise funds to help reach out to more people after running this project on our own for over 20 days. The funds raised will help us pay our current counsellors and hire more to expand our reach and help more people in need. We aim to onboard 100 counsellors in the next three months to serve 100,000 people.
