For a metropolitan like Delhi, where one presumes that equal working opportunities are provided to both genders, women make up only 9.4% of Delhi's workforce. Project Lakeer is one such initiative by  Enactus at Ashoka University that aims to uplift the women from poverty-stricken slums.

About Enactus
At Enactus, we believe that every individual has the ability to make an impact in their community - not in the form of charity - but by using the positive power of entrepreneurship. It is the world's largest experiential learning platform, dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators. Using the techniques of Social Entrepreneurship, we work to create sustainable business models in order to generate effective employment opportunities as well as improve the standards of living for many people around the world about

Project Lakeer
Tons of paper is used and wasted on college campuses every day that needs to be recycled for a better tomorrow.  In Project Lakeer, we make handcrafted diaries have been made using recycled paper collected from our university and homes.
These diaries are then designed by women from the ‘Slum Project’ at Full Life Children Home, Delhi. Under this project, women are trained with vocational and soft skills to enhance the economic opportunities available to them. In fact, the very basis of starting our project was to provide employment to underprivileged women. We believe that we have achieved initial success as the income has increased their family income by 70 percent.
What do we want?
As a nonprofit organization, Enactus Ashoka is heavily dependent on the outstanding contribution of generous donors who share our vision, passion, and commitment to bringing a positive change in society. We would be very honored if you could support our project by donating a small amount for our cause.
