A stray dog got hit by a car today morning right in front of our house. We took her to hospital. X rays show a spinal injury and some internal bleeding. Her hind legs have been affected and she’s not able to move them at all. She’s also in some pain and had to be sedated for the X-rays.
The next step is to do CT scans to understand exactly what has gone wrong and neurological tests to determine how much sensation she has in her legs. Post that she will need surgery on her spine to correct the fracture and repair the nerves. She will also need multiple X Rays to keep checking on the internal bleeding situation. She is currently admitted to the hospital where they keeping a close eye on her.
Scanning and blood tests come to around 25000 INR . Cost of surgery is 80000 INR. Hospital admission costs and blood tests, medicines and consultations will come to around 30000-50000 INR.
Meanwhile, we have named her Elsa. We are hoping to raise 1.5 lakh to get this girl surgery and get her walking and running again. She’s a sweetheart who deserves to get her life back.
