We started back in 2002 and are working to uplift people's living standards in and around Gopali Village, located near the IIT campus, through education and skill development programs.
Our flagship initiative is to run an English-medium school named Jagriti Vidya Mandir (JVM), where about 240 students from underprivileged families receive quality education free of cost. Established in 2008, the school currently has classes from Nursery to Class V, with a staff of 10 teachers.
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Under our EACh (Educate A Child) program, we provide students with facilities like uniforms, sweaters, shoes, socks, school bags in addition to educational resources like books, copies, and an Innovative Education kit. The total expense of this for a pre-primary child is INR 7,000 and for a primary student, it is INR 8,000.
In order to maintain proper quality education, teachers' quality has to be maintained as they are the pillars of the education system. We observed that a large number of students can’t afford transportation and thus are often seen as irregular. Under our program JVMCare, we concentrate on removing such physical barriers by removing the cost of transportation and ensuring the sustainability of funds for teachers’ salary, thus making students regular and also improving the quality of education and help us focus on other broader areas of impact on the lives of these people. The total expense of this per child is INR 5,000.
Hence the complete expense (EACh + JVMCare) for a pre-primary child is INR 12,000 and for a primary student, it is INR 13,000.
Please help us by sponsoring the education of these students and bringing smiles to the innocent faces of these underprivileged children.
