👉 The second wave of the coronavirus has severely impacted the lives of people everywhere. However, underprivileged families have been affected even more so. The nationwide lockdown caused the closure of schools, which has widened the gap for marginalized students who do not have access to digital Platforms. Surveys and evidence from CRYs operational areas has shown that only approximately 30% of children between 11 and 18 years have any access to phones or computers. Without any form of digital access, most children are unable to stay connected with their school and coursework, leading to dropouts. This further results in a steep spike in child labor and child marriage.
👉 Quality education is crucial for a child’s cognitive and personal development, including critical thinking and problem-solving. We believe that every single child should be able to go to school and complete their education regardless of socioeconomic status.
