EACH ONE FEED ONE
A small initiative started by a group of friends in Bangalore & Noida, to provide relief aid work at a community/local level to the poor & lower middle-class families around us.
As governments around the world including India are battling to curb the spread of COVID-19 virus, it has given birth to various other issues around the world like starvation and unemployment. While India housing to a population of 130 crore people, the containment of the virus along with such issues becomes a challenging task.
The sudden restrictions imposed on the travel and economic activities has affected many workers, resulting in them being stranded in major cities away from home with very marginal or no source of income. The major brunt of such situation has proven to be on the migrant workers, house maids, handicapped people, widows, people from the marginal class of the society, lower middle class and many more. With lock downs extended continuously, it has become even more difficult for such people to have access to basic necessities of life such as FOOD!
Most of these people are either having a single meal per day or sleeping hungry for days while struggling to get to their homes either by foot or by standing in long queues to get their registrations done with no confirmation but only a hope to meet their loved ones. As most of these people are relying on government aid, not much has been provided on ground in many parts India.
Community distribution plays an important role in such situations to restore people's faith back in humanity and to ease the pressure on governments handling such situations. Putting forth our objective to spread awareness of EACH ONE FEED ONE, we have successfully distributed over 5000 food packets, 1035 ration kits in Bengaluru in the North and Central region and over 1000 ration kits in Noida. We have also successfully sent over 177 stranded migrant workers by helping them with the online registration process, to avail the Shramik train facility from Bangalore to various parts of the country.
In a time, where luxury equals roof over our heads and food on the table at all times, it becomes our moral and ethical duty to put ourselves ahead and do our bit as a community to help those in need. We urge everyone to come forward and donate for this cause and more importantly spread the word.
