The Covid- 19 pandemic has rendered thousands of poor and disabled people without a job. With the crisis growing everyday, the livelihoods of a large number of families that survive on mere earnings have been affected.
The poor and disabled community have seen their only source of income come to a standstill, leaving them with no means to earn for themselves during these days of difficulty.
Hunger and desperation prevails. Can we can do something to help our fellow citizens? BG Educational and Charitable Trust is spearheading a project to provide support to affected families across India.
The aim is to help them have a reliable supply of ration and other essential equipment in the absence of employment opportunities.
A large number of disabled and poor earners do not have the backing of a steady monthly income or the flexibility of working from home like a lot of us have today. They also do not have enough savings to stock up on food and other essentials for their family, young ones included. As responsible citizens of our country with the means to help, we need to unite together and help feed everyone and ensure nobody sleeps hungry.
The poor and disabled have been most impacted by the Covid-19 lockdown. We have identified close to 10,000 such families who need our support.
We will issue One Ration Kit to every family that needs our support. Each kit will contain grains for a family of 5 for one month.
How will your funds be used? Each kit for a family costs us Rs.1000. Each kit contains a combination of food grains and pulses - Wheat Flour, Rice, and pulses. and any other essentials that the disabled will require (on a case to case basis)
10,000 families x 1 month of ration x Rs. 1000 per kit.
Each kit contains a combination of food grains and pulses - Wheat Flour, Rice, and pulses. Our raw grains will be procured from our supply partner locally. This is a 100% not for profit campaign, and we will disclose the use of proceeds in a financial transparency report. 80G Tax exemption certificate will be issued for all donations.
Our volunteers will ensure responsible distribution of these kits while ensuring ‘Social Distancing’ guidelines.
On a more personal note; we are just ordinary folks who've been exposed to the uglier side of life. We have realised that being citizens, we all have a responsibility towards society, and we have seen how so many of us turn a blind eye to things that need attention. We have taken it upon ourselves to change this attitude, and make the little difference that we can. All we ask of you is your support and help us effect a change.
We humbly request you to contribute generously as a sponsor and be part of this fundraiser. This objective can be brought out from people with great concern towards the unprivileged and diabled.
Anticipating your kind hearted gesture and co-operation for the noble cause.
