8 year old Subrat is suffering from ‘Myasthenia gravis’ – a rare disease with occurrences of fewer than 1 million cases per year in India. There is no cure for myasthenia gravis, but it is treated with medications and sometimes surgery. Subrat has been prescribed to undergo Thymectomy - a surgical procedure where the thymus gland is removed to stop the production of autoantibodies that mistakenly attack the muscle-nerve connections in myasthenia gravis patients.
Subrat’s family hails from Odisha and his father is the only bread earner. They have already spent close to 8 lakhs on earlier treatments for Subrat and are now struggling to raise money. Please do help in terms of generous contributions so Subrat can live a normal healthy life again.
