Guys, I know all of you have been generous to donate towards various worthy causes including recent COVID crisis. Could you please take a moment to read this which is very personal to me and my family. If you can recommend something to increase the visibility of this campaign then please pm me.

On 29th May 2021, what we thought was just another normal Saturday, our world was shattered. We heard that our Nephew Dharaj (Om) - a sweet and energetic 4 year old who had a fever for the past couple of days was diagnosed with Acute Leukaemia. It is a cancer of blood cells which grows very rapidly and the feeling of how unfair life can be for such an innocent child who had a lifetime of adventures ahead of him cannot be shaken.

Om is an only child and lives in India where treatment costs are very high. He went from being perfectly healthy to developing a fever last week. A routine blood test showed alarmingly high Leucocytes triggering further investigation over the next couple of days which has confirmed Leukaemia.

A very difficult journey has just begun for the family who are going to leave no stone unturned to make sure he is ok but we cannot even fathom the scale of the emotional, physical, psychological and financial trauma that Om and his family will go through for the next few years. With only a sole earning family member already under financial difficulties due to COVID in India whose focus will now be on providing care for Om, the burden of diagnosis and treatment seems beyond reach!

Being far away from them we can do the little we can to support them through this journey both emotionally and financially. So we are starting this fundraising campaign to walk with them in this journey, to take the load off a little and to send our positive vibes and blessings and prayers to Om.

Every little helps! We will keep you updated on the diagnosis and treatment in real time. Hope we can count on your support.

Thanks for you support

Bhatia Family
