Namaste,

I am Dr. Safal Sable. I live in the UK and work for the NHS as a front-line specialist in Royal Berkshire Hospital. We are organising this fundraiser for Dhamangao Railway Covid-19 support.

I am sure you are aware of the Covid-19 crisis in India, the infection rates have risen higher, leading to Covid-19 rapidly spreading in rural areas, which is both upsetting and concerning   If you have seen the latest distressing images from Delhi and Mumbai, you have probably been disturbed by the scenes of people begging for oxygen, hospital beds and medicines.  When the thousands of innocent people do not receive these vital things, they simply…die.

If these scenes were coming from the of international standards, the situation in rural villages would be living hell.  There is not enough testing going on, not enough beds for the patients, and no sources of additional oxygen or medicines at villages. People are dying on the way to the bigger hospital in cities. Many are left at home to pass away as they don’t have enough money to afford a treatment. We have waited for support from the International aid and from the government of India, but we have seen that the International Aid cannot reach the rural areas, and the government supplies are simply not enough.

We have chosen a town called Dhamangao Raiwlay in the western state of Maharashtra. Dhamango Railway has given many doctors. One of them is myself.
This town has 60% dependency on low income manual labour from agriculture,  and very low percentage of them are land owners.

In the last couple of weeks, over 30 people have died of Covid due to the lack of treatment. Oxygen shortage is the main reason. We want to help them, but to do that, we need your help. You could help us save many lives.

We have already started our work on the ground by identifying local medical volunteers, and identifying suppliers of oxygen concentrators. With the money we will be collecting, we will buy the oxygen concentrators and lend them, free of cost to the poor and needy. Once the patient starts recovering, we will pass the oxygen concentrator on to the next patient in need. All the details of the purchases and services will be transparent and available to you on this portal.

We request you to help us in saving these poor lives....
Please share this link as much as you can and if you have any questions, please contact us.

Thanks,

Dr. Safal Sable and Dr. Sharmila Khopade, Amar Khopade
