About Us:
The Sunrise English Medium School was initially set up in the year 2000 at Wadagaon Sheri with seven students in a single room. We constantly worked towards understanding the struggles faced by our community and its growing need for educating children with English as a medium. Today, we take pride to talk about the progress we made from a single room to a 3 store building (on rent in Raghoba Patil Nagar) which provides nourishment through quality education to 700 students.

Our Vision:
“To create a safe space for children and provide a sustainable & quality education for all children. “

Our Journey So Far:

• Our School invested parents in the community for the betterment of their children’s education. This made both parents and students understand the importance of education.
• Our school is actively taking part in improving the adult literacy levels in the community. This lead to increase awareness within the community.
• Students from our school participated in inter-school competitions that helped them to discover their individual strengths.
• Some of the classes of our school were intervened by Teach For India. This made students grow in several areas like reading compressions, writing, math, science, sports and communication skills.
• Technical intervention in the classrooms (Computer lab & Projectors) effectively improved the thinking abilities in our children.

Our Achievements:

•  Students from 9th standard made a working model of JCB and participated in the inter-school competition.
• One of our students was awarded a UWC scholarship. (UWC – United World Colleges, A Global Educational NGO). The scholarship program ensures diversity through a selection of potential and merit.
• Twenty of our girl students were selected for the education program run by Avasara Foundation.
• Several students participated and secured first place in inter-school drawing competitions conducted by Rotary Club.

Our Plans For The Upcoming Year:

• Providing basic infrastructure in the classrooms. (Benches & Black/White Boards).
• Setting up a Science Lab with sustainable equipment for our students.
• Improving facilities in the computer lab with more computers and better student learning soft-wares.
• Organizing Teacher Training Sessions and Workshops for teachers.
• Classroom Painting Project- Involving kids and encouraging their creative ideas for classroom decoration.
• Conducting workshops for parents on “Finance management”.
