(I am associated and working with GyanKunj, an NGO started by my friend, Aman Raja, a DTU alumnus. On the occasion of my Birthday, I wished to celebrate it in a special and memorable way. I couldn't find a better way than to take a few initiatives in the education sector for those in need. So, I started this fundraising campaign, the amount to be utilized in setting up a Science Lab for the underprivileged students. Since this NGO is just a year old, we are completely dependent on your benevolent contributions. Kindly help us to reach there)

Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.

Gyankunj is raising fund this time for setting science lab for its students. The objective is to kindle their curious brains with knowledge of practical experiments along with theoretical aspects.

Background:
Many of us are lucky with the quality of education we have received, backed by strong financials. And nobody than ourselves is in a better position to testify the transformation education has brought in our lives. We wish that every child be given this kind of opportunity to prove themselves, but unfortunately, there is deep Inequality prevalent in our society, which deny an equal and fair opportunity to all.

Reena Roy, a single-parent child, is an achiever who aced her 9th examinations securing a score of 562/600. Her desire is to serve people by joining the medical profession as a doctor. But finance is a major hurdle for her…

There are millions of young kids who are being left behind, and not privileged enough to receive a quality education as most of us have had received.  It is very painful to imagine the future of such kids who has the potential to make a change in their life and society with the power of education but may be lost before they reach there.
Can we stop it altogether? No, but, we can try our best, within our capacity, to extend our arms and pull out some of such kids and provide them opportunities. With that vision in mind, we started our NGO - Gyankunj in a slum area of Bawana, Delhi. Gyankunj’s prime objective is to fill the cavity in the education of students from low-income families and try to bridge the gap in the academic opportunities provided to children from well off families.

… Having pledged, to remove any financial barrier for our passionate students, we launched crowd fundraising for Reena Roy, for medical coaching fees of 250,000 INR. With the help of some noble and empathetic hearts, we were able to raise the fund. Now Reena Roy, free from financial fetters, is ready to soar high.
