Since the calamitous COVID-19 ravaged through India, the country recorded more than 270,000+ COVID deaths and counting. Various states in India like Mizoram have been under strict lockdown. The effect of the second wave is felt by everyone. Our hospitals are running out of ICU beds and oxygen supplies. People’s income is affected especially those of daily wage laborers and their families. In order to fight COVID caused hunger among low-income communities and to equip hospitals and frontline workers with the protection they require, we launched two COVID-relief projects to fight the effects of the deadly pandemic:

1. Helping Hospitals and Frontline workers: We have been providing PPE Kits and Oxygen Concentrators for use in the frontline of the fight. We have been able to provide these lifesaving equipments to hospitals in the cities. With your help, we would like to extend our project to small towns and remote villages in India’s Northeastern states where access to healthcare is minimal and there are little to no such equipments in village hospitals.

2. Project Flashlight: Under this project, we have been providing meals and water to low-income families in the Northeastern states in India. A lot of families in remote villages are unable to put food on the table due to the imposition of state-wide lockdowns. We have served over 100+ families with family sized meals in the last few days. We are extending our project to serve female sex workers and survivors of domestic violence who are forced to live in makeshift houses and over-burdened state government dedicated care centers and homes.
