Deepak, hailing from Delhi, has been suffering from neurofibromatosis and is unable to seek treatment due to his family's financial incapability. He lives with a genetic neurological disorder that affects the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and skin and causes tumors on the nervous tissue. This ailment has affected the right side of his neck, causing several deformities.

Neurofibromatoses are a group of genetic disorders that cause tumors to form on nerve tissue. These tumors can develop anywhere in the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. Neurofibromatosis is usually non-cancerous, while there are three types of this condition. Type one usually appears in childhood, while Types two and three appear in early adulthood.

Still in his teens, Deepak has spent most of his childhood suffering from this rare disease. Moreover, the area below his face has swollen up and is disfigured to an extent where he cannot go out and lead a normal life. Besides, his medical ailment has not only affected his health but also robbed him of his childhood as no one wants to be friends with him due to his appearance.

Still a child, he lives in isolation and endures the sufferings as parents have left no stone unturned for his treatment so far. Also, his parents, Reena Devi and Bhola Singh have four kids and have seen their child suffer in front of their eyes and are on the verge of giving up. Moreover, the father is the sole earner or breadwinner for the entire family and with a meager income like that, he is unable to seek the medical attention Deepak needs as all the financial burdens are crushing him.

Both the parents have strived to arrange funds for the treatment but have failed as the expenses were too high. With father earning just Rs. 10,000 (USD 133) per month and the fact they live in a rented house, has crippled them and completely exhausted the entire family. Till now, they have sold their land, jewelleries, and several things they owned to manage Deepak's treatment and fund his medication.

The poor parents have tried all possible ways to see proper treatment for the boy, but nothing seems to have worked out so far. Although some hope still flickers in their heart that they might see their child healthy again, but everyone has closed their doors for them.

Initially, Deepak's parents took him to see different doctors but nothing worked out. They also visited some government hospitals for further consultation but they remained silent and raised their hands on the treatment due to their severe negligence. However, they did not lose hope and contacted a place for Deepak's medication, but sadly they demanded Rs. 1 lakh (USD 1,337) from them, throwing their life out of gear.

Moreover, the cost of the procedures and their inability to fend for their child broke their spirits. The family tried every possible way, but even after visiting local government hospitals for his treatment, their cries for help fell on deaf ears. Deepak's family has seen him burdened with the tumor and witnessed his struggle as he is too weak to do routine activities. However, after receiving no help, Deepak's parents are torn between seeking medical attention for him and keeping the family fed.

Needless to say, Deepak used to attend school but his ailment and growing tumor made him suffer while the students kept making fun of him, forcing him to drop out and stop his education mid-way. Further, whenever the family used to visit their relatives for family functions, the bullies used to torment the child and discriminate against him to such an extent, that he used to break down and isolate himself. Such taunts made him incapable of making any friends or interacting with anyone in society.

With their falling income, the helpless parents seek help from the community as their child wishes to pursue his education and fulfill his dreams. He wants to lead a normal life and make his parents proud as they have suffered beyond expectations. Burdened due to their current predicament, they are waiting for a good samaritan. They express their inability and seek financial aid from society, urging people to support them during these challenging times.
