With the second wave in India unfolding rapidly, we are facing a massive humanitarian crisis. With the impending lockdown and continuously rising number of cases, people are facing hardship physically, mentally and financially. Here at Dayspring Home in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, the impact of COVID-19 is becoming noticeably challenging with food availability reducing, and prices increasing by the day. We fear that if this worsens, it will make it challenging to ensure food security and quality medical care for our children at Dayspring home.
Established by Blossom Trust in 2007, Dayspring Home is a children’s home, currently caring for 20 vulnerable children, providing shelter, food, education and medical care for the children's physical and mental well-being. The children are often affected and/or infected by HIV/AIDs or TB. Other children come from poverty, with families unable to support them. Overall, providing for the children at Dayspring is Blossom Trust’s utmost priority.
In critical times such as the COVID-19 crisis, donations keep Dayspring Home running and your contribution will make an immense impact on our children!
Therefore, we are seeking your generous help to mitigate this crisis. Blossom Trust is fundraising for immediate, short-term support to keep Dayspring running, providing nutritious food and medical costs for our children in the upcoming 6 months, which amounts to ₹223,200 ($3,066.75 USD). Currently, food prices are already rapidly increasing due to lockdown restrictions, so we are estimating our monthly food costs to rise to 28,000 Rupees. Additionally, the budget includes our running costs and medical costs, as shown below.
