My dear sister in law, Cyndrella Marcellus Aleckal, fondly called Cindy by our family was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 in the middle of raging COVID. She bravely fought it then and underwent surgery and several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation therapy under the supervision of eminent doctors at a private hospital. Cindy known for being very strong fought it bravely and was leading a happy and normal life with her loving Husband Marshall and her two young, but brave children aged 12 and 11. With family’s love, care and her own spirit she was doing well, until in May 2022 she developed symptoms that were diagnosed of metastasis in brain and lungs. Her cancer had spread to her brain and her lungs. On May 12 she underwent brain surgery to remove the large tumor and is undergoing more round of chemo and radiation therapy. With the love of her family, she is recovering well but is advised expensive oral medications costing nearly Rs 85,000 per month ( Abemaciclib ( Remiven 150mg) and Anastrozole (1mg). Some of Cindy’s treatment was covered under the insurance, but a large portion of the expenses were met by Cindy and Marshall’s savings and help from nearest friends and relatives. The family has now exhausted their savings and need funds to pay for Cindy’s medicines. These are life saving drugs and Doctors are very confident that these medications can shrink the existing tumors and Cindy may be able to become cancer free again.

We are now raising Rs 7,50,000 which will cover a large portion of Cindy’s medicine requirements, the other expenses which Marshall will try to cover through his monthly salary. No contribution is small and any help that you do will help us buy Cindy’s medicines will be greatly appreciated. Cash contributions will directly go to Marshall who will use it to make payments to the pharmacy from where her medicines will be procured.
