CoV-aid Bengaluru is a group of citizen volunteers who got together after seeing the sheer carnage and devastation left behind by the second wave of the pandemic. We aim to help individuals and families who, along with the complexities of identifying and sourcing medical resources, also had to endure planning the transportation and logistics of acquiring them in times of need.
Why we do what we do?
The massive lack of access to medical resources and oxygen has left the public to fend for themselves in obtaining concentrators and cylinders. However, the prohibitive cost of acquiring these resources at currently inflated prices leaves a lot of families struggling to keep their loved ones alive. Families that can afford these costs, do. Other families that don’t, are left gasping for air. Something as universally fundamental to existence as oxygen, is suddenly the biggest difference between life and death.
CoV-aid aims to use the funds raised to acquire concentrators and cylinders, and circulate them in the communities that need them the most. All funds raised will go entirely towards this, and the transportation of these equipment through fully-equipped on-ground heroes to the doorstep of the affected families.
Once we are no longer in need of these items in Bengaluru, which we hope is sooner rather than later, we shall donate them to hospitals, medical camps and rural health centres.
