Today, Mumbai and other cities across India have tragically become the epicenter of this ongoing pandemic. The crisis in India has manifested with a severe shortage of oxygen that is not only impacting people infected with COVID-19 but others hospitalized with urgent medical needs. Hospitals in India are overwhelmed with an increase in patients needing care.

While hospitals in developed countries often produce their own oxygen, those in India typically rely on trucks that travel long distances to replenish their liquefied oxygen tanks or even cylinders.

This complex logistics network has crumbled as Covid-19 patient numbers have surged in virus hotspots such as Delhi. Normally, about 5% of hospital inpatients require oxygen support. The majority of hospitalized Covid-19 patients need oxygen, requiring hospitals to replenish far more frequently.

Each new 10kg Oxygen cylinder costs ₹6500. The pipe and mask cost ₹700. So we plan to buy 50 cylinders with pipe and mask, for a total of ₹ 360000.

Refilling an existing cylinder costs ₹900. We plan to refill each cylinder 10 times, for a total of 500 refills * ₹900 each = ₹450000.
