Elder Care Trust:

Imagine living alone in your house and having no one besides your chair. You spend your pre-bed time ensuring that you’ve taken all your medicines yet anticipating another night of fighting your swollen knees. Each morning you wake up hoping that your caretaker shows up on time because you can no longer do chores, buy medicines or refill kitchen supplies. Then comes fourth week of March and you hear about a nationwide curfew due to a foreign disease. You’re no longer allowed to leave your house and there will be no visiting help. You’re unable to understand this disease but you do know that you belong to the demography where mortality rate is dangerously high. Sounds scary, doesn’t it? This was the precise situation of thousands of vulnerable senior citizens of India on 24th March 2020 and they are still living through it.

Elder Care Trust is an NGO based in Gujarat which is striving to support vulnerable elders in and around Ahmedabad since 2014. In this present lockdown, they are running a campaign with more than 100 volunteers to support affected senior citizens in fight against COVID-19.

Elder Care Trust is raising funds for this campaign. The donors’ money will go directly in sanitation kits, medicines and groceries for these needy people.
