Climate Change is real and it is happening now! With increasing temperature and rising sea levels, the next few years will see more people becoming vulnerable to the effects of climate change. What can you and I do?
The best thing to do is reduce our personal emissions and resource consumption.
But is this enough? What's the next best thing we can do?
Help mold a climate leader!
Who is a Climate Leader?
A person who will be professionally working in the area of climate action.
How do we mold climate leaders?
By training them and supporting their initiatives.
Our previous climate leaders are
- Working with local government in climate action
- Supporting NGOs with their climate-based work
- Supporting livelihood based projects
- Researching on climate-based solutions
- Supporting vulnerable communities
- Building sustainable cities and communities
- and some are pursuing Masters's and Ph.D. Programs and contributing to the social scientific study of the domain
How can you help?
We, the SUSTERA FOUNDATION seek your support to raise INR 2.5 Lakh to train 20 climate leaders from Kerala. We plan to train climate leaders from across the country in the future editions of our CLIMATE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM.
What will you get apart from the appreciation for your role in molding climate leaders?
No donation is small! But individuals who donate INR 2,000/- and above will get access to several online and offline sessions we conduct on sustainability as part of building the Gen-Re tribe. And Individuals who contribute above INR 20,000/- and above will able to be part of the Carbon offset projects that we will be doing along with the above benefits.
A Brief Note on the need for such a program:
CLIMATE CHANGE has materialized into a reality with its impacts visible all over India and the world. The state of Kerala is also experiencing the wrath of climate change by way of increasing weather variability with extreme temperatures in summers and intensive flooding during monsoons. Farmers, fishermen, and other vulnerable local communities suffer the brunt of climate change impacts the most.
The need of the hour is to develop capacities and capabilities to address the challenges posed by climate change in different sectors. In consonance with this view, it is also required to work closely with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It is of utmost necessity to develop sustainable solutions to existing and probable threats to these challenges. SUSTERA’s pioneering initiative in creating a corps of climate warriors to combat climate change and better the lives of communities will help in progressing towards these goals.
Who is conducting the program?
Our Climate Leadership Programme will allow young changemakers to identify and implement projects which aim at both mitigation and adaptation to climate change
The event is conducted by SUSTERA FOUNDATION and ATREE CERC. Several leading organizations support the program including Kerala State disaster management agency, World Wild Life fund, Climate Collective, Terra.do and several other organizations would be supporting the program.
