    This fundraiser will benefit

    Chitrataru

from Naya, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal

The Patachitra Artists of Naya, West Bengal are in immediate peril. An entire craft village has stopped seeing any income since the lock-down in India started in March and even now as COVID destroyed demand and leisure travel. To add to their woes, West Bengal saw its worst tropical cyclone - Amphan, in decades, that further destroyed their livelihoods and accommodations. They stand to die without income support for basic necessities and the heritage of a centuries old art-form stands to go extinct.

Indic Origins has been a partner to Patachitra artists in Naya. We're requesting those who want to act to directly share funds to the Account of Chitrataru - Artists' Co-operative in Naya (search on Google to read more about the organization). As little as 500 rupees can keep a family going for a week.

We will share the details of the family you help with you, if you choose to follow the impact you create in their lives and you can directly contact and work with them if you want to. It's a completely transparent system. Remember to email the details of your transfer and whether you want to opt in to connecting with the family directly to indicorigins@gmail.com.

For the cost of a restaurant meal, you can feed a family and help save an endangered art. #vocalforlocal #helpsmall
