We, a bunch of schoolmates from "United English School, Chiplun", need your love and support to help to resurrect the wonderful "Chiplun" lively vibes. The heavy rainfalls during the week of July 18 created an unprecedented flood situation and have disrupted the lives of local people. With the help of our local knowledge, we are planning to provide help to 200-300 families with clothes and bedding resources. The magical Chiplun land has taught us resilience, nobility, and perseverance. That enabled us to create our small yet elegant stories across the global map. Please help us- with your love and support- to express our gratitude to our magical land- "Chiplun" and its community before Tuesday 8:00 PM IST/ 12:00 PM EST.

Place:

• The land of Maharashtra state holds a beautiful city called "Chiplun" in the Konkan region, on the Mumbai-Goa highway.
• Lively and kind residents are well known for their hospitality.
• But, for thousands of people like us- who grew in Chiplun, it is a place where the magic happens. This magic has blessed us with resilience, nobility, and perseverance.
• With the help of these qualities, thousands of children like us of the land are continuously creating our small yet elegant stories across the global map. We will always be grateful to our Chiplun and our local people for the same.

Why need your support and help?:

• The week of July 18th witnessed heavy rainfalls in Chiplun resulting in an unprecedented flood. Hence, we need your love and support to rescue the Chiplun community in these times of trouble.
• The major economy-marketplaces and commercial complexes were under water
• Residential life has been significantly affected: 20% of the population needed to be shifted, multiple residential apartments were under water resulting in almost complete loss of belongings
• Transportation is disrupted- the bus stands were under water; railway connectivity stopped; limited outside connectivity
• Electric and communication disruption: electricity is still not completely available; major cellular and internet services are down
• People are having significant difficulties in meeting basic needs

What motivates us to do this work?

• Not long ago, in 2005, during our high school days, we had a similar flood situation.
• We were very fortunate to be beneficiaries of love and support across the globe. That has helped to reach different parts of the globe creating our little success stories.
• As gratitude to that love, we need a helping hand from you to bring back enthusiastic vibes in Chiplun.

What adds to the required local ingredients?

• Due to the gravity of the situation, help is currently being provided from different sources. Yet it is not enough; it is not sufficiently specific and inclusive.
• Hence, we, a bunch of schoolmates from "United English School, Chiplun" are working towards personally distributing necessary resources to local people who need them the most.
• We are putting a special focus on transparency of the resource distribution process.
• Kewal Sheth, a CA (CPA equivalent in the USA) by profession, will diligently track funds.
• Prateek Javkar, a Pune-based entrepreneur, is known for local resourcefulness, will lead the distribution efforts.
• Sujay Shinde, Anand Bhate, and co will play an integral role in the successful execution of the campaign.

What we are currently doing?

• We are in the process of arranging for doctors (both male and female) to accompany us during the distribution process to help local people.
• As the situation is closely tied to multiple moving pieces, we are currently focusing on providing clothes and bedding resources to multiple localities within Chiplun.
• We will update the specifics of the resources as the situation evolves.

How will ensure transparency?

• As a part of the transparency process, we will provide accounts of fund utilization.
• We will share photos of all the distribution efforts to provide lovely supporters to see glimpses of the heart-warming vibes evoked by your wonderful sharing.

Sensitive timelines:

• Keeping time sensitivity in mind, we will keep open the campaign till Tuesday (July 27) at 11:59 PM IST/ 2:30 PM EST.
• We plan to purchase the required material on Wednesday
• We will begin distribution efforts by Thursday, July 29.
