The cyclone Fani made a landfall in Puri on Odisha coast around 8 am on 3rd May, triggering heavy rainfall coupled with high velocity winds with speed of 240 kmph in vast areas. The area along Puri witnessed strong winds. Almost 40 people have been so far reported as dead due to the extremely severe cyclone Fani. The cyclone have completely devastated capital Bhubaneswar, Silver City Cuttack and World famous Jagnnath Dham city Puri. The state government evacuated 1.2 million people to safe places before arrival of cyclone but the intensity of cyclone was so strong that it wiped out almost everything came in front of it. Millions of trees uprooted and homes destroyed leaving 4 million people in severe plight. They don't have food to eat, water to drink and no electricity at all. They have been disconnected completely from rest of the world. The cyclone have devastated billions of properties and the people suffered will take years to recover from the loss they have incurred.
