thousands of children are going to bed hungry as the country has shut down to battle the pandemic. With 472 million children, India has the largest child population in the world, and the lockdown has impacted around 40 million children from poor families.
These include those working in farms and fields in rural areas, as well as children who work as ragpickers in cities.
"During the lockdown, everyone has been told to stay home. But what about the street children? Where do they go and what do they eat?"
It is not just the very poor who are affected, others too are experiencing anxiety amid the stress of the shutdown. Children find themselves isolated and experiencing uncertainty in arrangements of their daily food needs so they are beginning to show signs of panic.

S.P Seva Sansthan has been operating various campaigns in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan, India in the wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic lockdown in India. We have been running a successful campaign for the distribution of food packets to the families of daily wagers. This campaign will help us extend our efforts to the children affected by the lockdown in the same area.

Through this campaign of distribution of snacks and biscuits among poor and needy children, we as an organization aim to help children fill their empty stomachs and release their anxiety due to uncertainty in their food arrangements.
