Hello, My Name is Thomas Philip B.Engg, IIMC (Ex Employee of International Oil and Gas MNCs) currently Volunteering FOARA (An NGO With Vision - To Provide sustainable Water, Food, Clothing, Shelter, Medical Care and Education to the poorest of the Poor and the Underprivileged of India.
Our Visit to Washermenpet Slum, Chennai and seeing the poor conditions of the Slum kids, made us think of taking care of them by giving them a one time meal daily while giving them evening or morning tuition class that would enhance their education. Education is key to bring kids out of their current poverty situation.
Currently We are taking care of 15 Children in Washermenpet Slum area, with local sponsorship.
We are planning to spend the fund in buying nutritious Food (Say, A Banana, One boiled Egg and a Big Sweet Bun) One Hygenically packed Bio degradable Food box would cost Rs 20. Also we will give Travel and Food allowance to the volunteers who should be Highly educated and has passion to serve these poor kids at Chennai Slum locations. Estimating a monthly allowance of Rs 5000 for a volunteer.
