    Chak-e-Panjpora Govt. Middle school

    from Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir

Story

Chak-e-Panjpora Govt. Middle school is home to 100 students aged between four to thirteen years. It has given the village of Chak Panjpora (Anantnag district, South Kashmir) its first generation of school-going kids. The school imparts educational skills to the students and promotes value-based and skill-based education irrespective of religion, race, caste, or language without contravening constitutional principles.

It was built in the year 2010 for an expected strength of 30 students of various age groups. Due to the increased adaptation of education over the years, the number of students has grown to 100, but the school only has 11 classrooms and a shared toilet used by both boys and girls.

Being in a remote location, the school has limited access to basic facilities like electricity, water, and infrastructure. They say that the purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one. In a village, far away from city dreams and opportunities, the school is the only light the children see.

For many years, the children of the Panjpora have not had access to such basic facilities and even today many from the poor and marginalized communities of the nearby villages still find it difficult to send their children to school due to lack of funds.

The troops from the Indian Armed Forces often try to support the school with various donations and gifts like books, clothes, infrastructure, etc and motivate the children. The school still lacks basic infrastructure like benches, tables, blackboards, stationery,
toilets, sports infrastructure, water filters and storage facilities, etc.
Mentioned below are some of the areas we wish to build with your support:

Separate toilet for boys and girls

With support from all who believe in this cause and our dedication, we are sure we can transform the poor and marginalized through education. We are looking for some help to build infrastructure that aids their education to ensure that these children can access their
fundamental rights.

How you can help:

A small donation from you can give a child from the remote village of Chak Panjpora a better future.
