Hello Everyone,

We have been helping migrants worker from Tamilnadu and Andra  Pradesh  to reach their home since April. There are still many who couldn't get out with the first flow during April May, with a hope they preferred to stay back anticipating that everything would be fine and normal in short time, which turned out to be a hopeless dream for these migrant workers of Tamilnadu and Andra.
These are people skilled in particular kind of job and would not get job back home in the same sector because of the fact that these state have limited resources or very few industries. But, now this wait has made their life worse, most of the people are Jobless due to falling demand for the products in the market, the factories are forced to operate with half the strength. The current situation is not unaware to anyone of us, it will take time. These stuck migrant, financially and emotionally broken need your help to reach home.

It is an extremely distressing situation and requires empathy from people who can support them in any possible way. We are supported by Individuals, Alumnus, Development sector professionals, NGOs, corporate. We have decided to coordinate the efforts on ground, with administration and civil society to provide for possible assistance to these distressed migrant workers. We cannot do this without a helping hand from you.

Since I am based in Andra, I am currently working for Tamilnadu, AP stranded migrant workers only. There are 1000's still, many have no food to eat, developed health issues due to hunger, have not shelter to stay or they are pushed to move out due to pending rents and growing infection fear.

With the support from community groups, friends, few NGO groups, we have been able to send more than 650 people by bus and 600+ by trains.
The possible support would be (not exhaustive)-

  • Arranging transport such as buses or trains with the help of administration/NGOs/ individual capacity or collaborative
  • Providing food, water to the travelers wherever possible to people on roads/in transit/ government shelter homes
  • Providing necessary information and support to administration for process/service delivery and logistics support
The funding is required for the transport and food only.

These are factory workers of garment factory, leather factory, Automobiles or mere thelawalas, panipuri wala, construction workers or farm workers.  We would also work for their rehabilitation..

No amount is small...
Home is the emotion for many in the current situation.
