• People belonging to marginalized communities don't have resources to meet ends, be it the money to buy basic resources, because of which they are unable to meet regular hygiene.
• They lost their means of livelihood due to COVID as many of them are petty vendors and domestic workers, they have no way of earning a living.
• They don't have a space where they can live under hygienic and sanitary conditions. They live in crammed up spaces, and on top of this the women and adolescent girls have no knowledge about menstrual health. What they do know comes from traditional practices which are also ridden with societal taboos and stereotypes.
• Due to the pandemic they have to use basic resources like water for general cooking and cleaning purposes leaving none to maintain hygienic practices during their menstruation.
These womenfolk belong to communities that have been marginalized for ages and are forced to resettle frequently.
Our Solution :
India Vision Foundation is a primary contributor to the social development sector, benefiting individuals from the neglected backgrounds. This entire segment of Marginalized communities is vulnerable to many grave illnesses other than COVID. We are providing ration kits and safety kits for protection against COVID but have also taken the initiative to provide Menstrual Hygiene essentials to ensure that while taking precautions against COVID these women don't fall prey to any other illness. We will also be conducting sessions to spread awareness about Menstrual Hygiene practices.
We also request of you to share this with your friends, family and colleagues.
