Step Forward Welfare Society is a young organization located in a very remote village, Upper Takbia, of Darjeeling Pulbazar block, Darjeeling. It was formed during the first wave of Covid, a group of youngsters (under 25) came together to teach tuitions to younger children. At a time when young people and children from our villages were struggling with how to continue education, this young group decided to catch the bull by its horns and decided that they will ensure that children continue education. They continued on their journey after Covid and have now conducted awareness sessions on substance abuse, alcoholism, waste management in their village. They have collaborated with their local community based organizations to implement an alcohol ban in their village.

The funds are required to build a community library now operating out of a member's house. Individual from the group has donated land for a community library. This enthusiastic group of young people need your support to build the library.
