I, (Ahalya Desikan) am raising funds on behalf of Zeal2Heal Association to save SARAH MIDDLE SCHOOL, Thirunagar, Madurai, A 50-year-old Government-aided school that has been the saviour for many economically poor and neglected children who joined this school after being denied admission from all other schools is facing the test of its times. This school was primarily built to support the education of children of weavers who can't afford primary education, although admits any child from a low-economic background. To date, this school has helped an average of 7500+ children get educated.
Now due to lack of proper infrastructure as recommended by the State Government of Tamilnadu and the need to renew approvals to operate has pushed the school to the verge of closure. On high priority, the Asbestos Roof needs to be changed to R.C.C Roof to continue operating the school. In this alarming situation, with support from like-minded people, SARAH School Alumni, and collaborative efforts from Organisations such as GIANTS, Wish to Help Charitable Trust, Zeal2Heal Association.
We are raising funds to revive the school Infrastructure - primarily change the asbestos roofing to R.C.C and save the school from closing down. A special project is created on this note and a separate account opened to manage funds and maintain transparency of funds collected and maintained.
