Indian football lacks icons. Icons who can be posters on the wall. Icons who every child waking up dreams of becoming, and every adult would want their child to be inspired by. Icons come with success, success comes with hard work and perseverance. But why are there no Icons in Indian football, even if there are  enough success stories?
Why are there no posters on the walls? Why are there no playing cards, no collectibles, nothing that a child can hold on to as an inspiration while growing up ? The answer is simple. For success to become Iconic, news must travel, stories must be shown, identity must be propagated through media and television along with adequate opportunities to succeed. We all know of the neglect, the problems, the challenges football and women face from a societal point of view . We read about it day in day out and cry over it.

At best we can say, Men's football has two, Women's football none. Remember our path to the World Cup is surer with women. So, why only heroes? Why not Sheroes? We do not want to be a part of a mistake, let us do more ourselves and not wait for everything around us to change. Let us leverage the Asian Cup platform to instill the mentality of inclusiveness in sport. Icons inspire and create more Icons.

We request you to help us put legends on the wall and in our banners, so that tomorrow the child that passes by has a Shero.
