I am Biplab Biswal, and I am raising funds for my brother, Binay.

We are a simple middle class family. Life has never been smooth for us with untimely bereavements, financial ups and downs, and constant pediatric medical requirements. We have been standing up to the beats of life, never complaining, holding onto GOD to keep us strong. There have been a few bright rainbows as well. Always believing, GOD would never give us any more hardships than we can endure. 

Binay, my 31 yr old brother, has been always the most GOD believing, with strong faith. His belief in the Supreme never wavers, just like my mother’s. He is a simple young man, with high spirits; he had simple dreams and aspirations of leading a normal life – of doing just well in life. He has been the focal point of his friend circle – always a friend in need, a very social and lovable person. A mild pain in his arms in December 2018 ended up with the fateful diagnosis of Stage 4 cancer of unknown source, metastases to lungs, pancreas in March 2019. Shortly after the diagnosis, he had jaundice and further tests revealed blockages in pancreatic duct which required emergency surgery. He recovered from jaundice and soon after there have been some medical procedures in the lungs to manage breathing difficulties. 

Almost every morning we are informed of yet another medical procedure that is required. Binay is staying positive and is fighting strong throughout. We are very thankful to lots of emotional support, courage and love pouring in. But, the finances required for his treatments are extending beyond our capacity. Doctors estimate 12 sessions of chemotherapy and overall estimate of the treatment cost will be about 1.5 lakhs per month. We have exhausted health insurance and all savings towards diagnosis, medical procedures and his surgery. Our acquaintances and friends have been very thoughtful in helping us in ways they can.  

The journey so far has been mentally, physically and financially exhausting and there is still a long way to go. While he is bravely battling the disease, we are battling the raw heartache of helplessness in face of depleting finances. We are here to seek your prayers, love and support to be able to continue with Binay’s treatment.
