My name is Anju and I am here to raise funds for my brother Bhola Saran who is 37 years old. He lives in New Delhi with his sister.

Bhola Saran is suffering from the perforation in the intestine and is currently admitted and receiving medication from Lady Hardinge Medical College. Bhola Saran had acute intestinal obstruction for which he underwent laparotomy and resection of 4 feet of gangrenous bowel with end ileostomy on 6.11.2019 at Kailash Hospital, Noida. Since the cost of keeping him at Kailash hospital was very high, we had to move him to Lady Hardinge Hospital. Except for 4 cm of proximal jejunum rest of the jejunum and ileum was gangrenous with multiple perforations so he had a re-exploratory laparotomy with resection of small bowel with retrograde tube jejunostomy and ascending colon stump closure on 13.11.2019, which means only 4 cm of his small bowel, is now remaining.

Bhola Saran is now on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) until he undergoes an intestinal transplant. Medanta is the only hospital in India that has carried out a successful intestinal transplant so far. The cost of the transplant is way beyond our capacity. We are a middle-class family and with Bhola Saran becoming bed-ridden, the situation is even harder for us. We have spent more than 7 lakh rupees up till now and exhausted all of our savings and also taken loans.

For the transplant, we require an estimated amount of 1 crore rupees. We have explored all our resources and have no way of collecting such a huge amount. I cannot see my brother die because of a lack of funds. I request you to help us in this time of need. Any contribution big or small will be of immense help to us.
