Our Mission
Our initiative aims to raise INR 1,50,000 to help Books for All Trust in running libraries in low income schools.
Who are we?
We are a group of 20+ ladies based out of Delhi/NCR, who have come together to support and establish libraries in low-income schools.
Before covid, we were supporting 10+ libraries but now most of them are shutting down due to lack of funds.
Our libraries were the only way for underprivileged students studying in government schools to read story books, engage in activities like painting and dancing and acquire general knowledge beyond the school curriculum.
What’s the current situation?
Due to the second wave of COVID-19 in India, most of the funds and relief efforts were directed towards helping COVID related calamities. Because of the lack of funds 3 of our 10 libraries have closed and the others are on the verge of shutting down.
Where is your donation going?
Books for all will use your donation to fund the day to day operational costs of BFA libraries such as paying salaries to librarians, providing stationary and other supplies to students, etc.
A contribution of INR 1,50,000 will help 1000+ students gain access to books and activities outside their school curriculum. These students do not have smartphones or computers and thus, these libraries become their only source of recreation and learning.
