Computer Mitra - Mobile computer lab for rural schools

Your helping hand will give a bright future to the students and will help them fulfil their dreams.

Today’s scenario - Go to any bank to open an account. You are asked to fill the form ONLINE and bring the attested printout.

For train reservation, though you stand in queue early in the morning, you will be told that the tickets are over as they are booked ONLINE by other people.

Complete procedure of Passport application is computerised and should be applied ONLINE. School and college projects have to be submitted ONLINE.

Lost PAN Card, AADHAR card, driving license etc (all government identities) can be reapplied ONLINE
There is so much ONLINE system today that even a primary school knows about“Google Search Engine.”

But is this the same case in rural India as well? What is the current situation of children attending Government schools and that too in rural India? Do they really know what that ONLINE means and how to reach there?

The answer is a BIG NO.

With his hard work, a student (who studied in Govt school) might have scored distinction in 10th standard. When he goes for further studies, with all his dreams, he realizes how behind he is by not even knowing what a COMPUTER is. What a keyboard and monitor are? How was he expected to know when he hadn’t studied about it at school for all these years?

Government is only focusing on DIGITALIZING India but what is the outcome of it when citizens do not know how to use it? Why is the Govt not thinking to add Computers as an important subject in the curriculum?

While there are no answers to these questions, ThinkSharp Foundation would not sit idle doing nothing. After seeing so many such scenarios in rural areas of Maharashtra, ThinkSharp Foundation has deeply felt the need of introducing Computers to the students studying in Govt schools in rural areas.

And thus TSF started to become a “Life Changer” for more than 7000 students from 34+ schools from rural areas of Maharashtra.

Who is ThinkSharp Foundation

ThinkSharp Foundation (TSF) is a non-profit organization established in 2011 with a vision
"To bridge the Rural-Urban education divide".

At ThinkSharp Foundation, we believe that every child has a right for better education. They should have opportunity to access the education they deserve. With this in mind, TSF has started the project “StudyMall” which aims to bridge educational infrastructure gap. As part of this, we set up DIGITAL CLASS, LIBRARY, and COMPUTER LAB in schools in rural India.
